August 2011

Learning Curves Childcare visits …

Each week in August, Peacehaven have had social interaction between the residents and young children from Learning Curves further up on Kinross Street.

There were various interactive games involving hand & eye co-ordination along with singing and dancing. Both residents and children enjoyed a lot … Photos can tell the truth.

Developing stronger connections between the older adults and their community will have tremendous benefits for both young and old.

Fun and games

Each afternoon the residents have been working their way through the alphabet trying to come up with as many words as possible for each letter. ‘T’ was our best round with 442 words. Jackie (left) recorded the words.

Special Anniversary

Les and Anne Lumb celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on the 10th. Wow!
It was a lovely family get together. J

Music

Jim Sparey, a country singer, kept the spirits high for residents by his 50’s and 60’s country songs with the cowboy hats on.

Then we have had Green Bay Women’s Institute Choir visiting us and sang gospel tunes on the 10th.

Spring setting in soon ...

Peacehaven is all set to welcome the long awaited spring. Daffodil day was observed on the 26th.

Ola Williams wrote a beautiful poem for the Daffodil day!
