Variety Show

On the 13th we were treated to a series of performances by an exuberant, 30-strong group of young people (aged 5 to18) from the Mother Divine Mercy Youth Group. Items ranged from songs of worship accompanied on the guitar, to pop dancing blending in contemporary music with traditional Indian tunes.

The group of five year olds put on a very enthusiastic haka complete with bare bellies and pukana.

A group of young women danced wearing beautiful blue and yellow flowered skirts, which had one resident mirroring their movements from her chair.

Their final act was a traditional Pacific Island drum dance, (all seated cross-legged on the floor) and many of the residents tapped their feet and clapped to the beat of the music.

When they had finished the young people came forward to shake hands with each member of the audience.

Artists at Work

The Kinross Lounge has been host to a great deal of artistic expression this month.

Stunning floral arrangements have been made with different colours and lengths of cuttings placed thoughtfully into round sponge bases.

The residents have been experimenting with different colours and mediums to bring to life butterfly drawings. There are now two colourful swarms of butterflies perching near the nurse’s station

Visit from Triss

Sue from the SPCA outreach program and her very well-behaved dog Triss came to see us on the 22nd.
