Mother’s Day

In honour of Mother’s Day this year, residents (with the help of Frances) compiled a colourful display entitled “What my mother taught me”. Residents and staff alike reflected on special memories of their mothers. It is now hanging on the wall near the library if you want to have a look, or read a selection of them below:

Marvellous Moments in May…

For two weeks Frances had been rustling up leaves, bits of bark and acorns for the resident’s next creative project. The result: a lovely Autumn Leaves display hanging proudly on the wall by the Kinross lounge.

Several of the residents also enjoyed seeing the yellows, browns and oranges of Autumn on a bus trip around Cornwall Park.

We celebrated Ola’s birthday on the 7th. At 98 she is currently Peacehaven’s most mature resident. Congratulations Ola!

The Round Robin this month was hosted by Peacehaven with residents coming in from Aranui. After tea and a quick bite of cream n’ jam scones the two teams set to work. Much whooping and cheering could be heard from the Kinross lounge as Peacehaven bowled its way to victory. A very pleasant and social morning was had by all.

A & A have gone away…

…to England for the next few weeks to visit family and friends. Frances will be leading the team during this time. We all wish them a very enjoyable break!
