Melbourne Cup Sweepstake

Almost every resident bought a ticket for the Melbourne Cup Sweep. Come five pm on Cup night the Kinross Lounge was a full house. Ola and Les won with “Americain”, followed by Doris N with “Malucky Day” and Mary came in third place with “So You Think”.

Lynfield College Visits

A group of 15-20 Lynfield College students, aged 13-15, have been visiting us as part of their work experience program. They have been chatting with residents, making Christmas decorations then hanging them up on the walls as well as playing bingo with the residents in the Kinross Lounge.

The Resident’s Family Christmas Party

Our Family Christmas Party on the 25th was a fantastic start to our season of celebrations. Over seventy family members attended- thank you to each one of you who came and shared this special afternoon with your resident(s). Some of the photos Rebekah took are on the next page.

We had five girls from the Baptist Church sing carols and two lovely acapella songs. Alan Pitts also provided some ambient music on the piano.

Then it was time for the finger food dinner- all manner of fritters, crisps, dips, and then chocolate dipped strawberries, Christmas cake and slices.

All in all it was a great opportunity to catch up with family members and friends.
