Go The All Blacks!

|
The tournament was won by New Zealand, who defeated France 8–7 in the final. It was the largest sporting event ever held in New Zealand, eclipsing the 1987 Rugby World Cup, 1990 Commonwealth Games, 1992 Cricket World Cup and the 2003 America's Cup.
eacehaven organised special nibbles and drink sessions for all the “All Blacks” matches at Kinross lounge which the residents enjoyed a lot. Residents & their families participated in the face painting event for the RWC 2011 final match. Can you recognise this lady? It’s our Mary Pitchford

Craft Work at Peacehaven
On 26th, craft work session was held in the Kinross Lounge. Frances, volunteers - Trish and Judy along with the residents made use of their creativity and came up with beautiful art works. It not only encouraged relationships among the participants but also developed powers of observation which strengthen visual imagination and therefore more ideas emerge.

Evergreens Concert
The Evergreen Concert is put together by five local churches for the senior citizens of Blockhouse Bay. It is held twice a year and is always a hit. This time round we transported fourteen residents up to Blockhouse Bay Baptist church. Pieces were played on the keyboard, piano, saxophone and violin. The Vicar from the Church of the Saviour shared some devotions. Afterward a nice light lunch was enjoyed by all.
Family Christmas Party
Just a reminder that our Residents Family Christmas Party will be held on the 24th of November from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Finger food dinner will be served – please RSVP by Thursday the 17th to Geet (09 627 8653 or email us) so we have an idea of how many to cater for.

Music & Dance
On the 11th, a large contingent of exuberant youth came to entertain us. They were from the Mother Divine Mercy Youth Group. Items ranged from Pacific Island Drum Dance, songs of worship and action songs that had our residents and staff tapping feet, clapping or singing along. An enjoyable, boisterous and enthusiastic display from generous young people.

On 28th, Jim Sparey, the singer left no stones unturned to make the residents dance to his exciting music. Do you recognise some of his favourites: "I Know I Won’t Find Another You", "You Are My Sunshine", "Rock & Roll"….
