Saint Patrick’s Celebration
 |
On the 17th the residents came to the breakfast table with greetings of “top of the morning to yer!” Almost everyone had gotten into the St Paddy’s spirit by donning some shade of green clothing. The few that didn’t own anything green were fixed up with sparkly hats, necklaces and shamrock badges. |
After lunch- which was Irish stew and ‘taties- Celtic music could be heard from the Kinross Lounge as residents ate green marshmallow slice and filled out St Patrick’s wordfinds. |

|
Frances read out information about the day and held a wee quiz on the colour green. The rest of the evening was spent watching “River Dance”.
Barbecue
We made the most of the last rays of summer sun by firing up the barbecue on the 9th. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed their sausage and strawberry ice-cream-in-the-cone lunch out in the garden.

Easter Giving
The Pathfinder’s group (girls aged 8-12, similar to Girl Guides) from the Church of Christ came to spread some Easter cheer. They handed out packages of Easter eggs and biscuits with beautiful handmade cards to everyoneand passed on their Easter well-wishes.
In brief
Musical Melodies: Lynn Walters comes to sing and play the guitar each Tuesday morning. The residents have been accompanying her with drums, bells and maracas.
Easter Bonnet Parade: The residents have been busily gluing and sewing flowers, pompoms and streamers to their Easter Bonnets in preparation for our parade.
Bus trips have been going to the Waterfront, Westgate, Kumeu and the Airport. Hydrotherapy has resumed for the year.
Advanced Warning: On Sunday the 18th of April at 1pm a group of vintage Vauxhall cars are coming to take our residents out for a drive. This event will bring back many memories for our residents.
